Book Review: The Power Of Six

Well I’ve just finished reading Pittacus Lore’s new novel The Power of Six. This novel is the sequel to I am Number Four; both a book and a movie.

The story continues to follow Number Four (aka John Smith), and his friends Sam and Six. They are on the run after the events of the first book and seeking the others like them. Running parallel to John’s story is Number Seven’s tale. She is living in Spain with her protector and is desperate to find John, who is plastered all over the news. There is also a confusing romantic square going on between John, Sarah, Six and Sam.

The story is just as exciting as the first. Full of danger from the Mogadorians and also the FBI, The Power of Six is action packed. The writing makes you want to keep reading to see what happens next to aliens stuck on Earth.

Some of the questions left open at the end of the first book are answered, but then more questions pop up and all you want to do is get your hands on the next book to figure them out.

The characters are engaging; you’re with them every step of the way, cheering them on and hoping they’ll make it out of every situation.

The Power of Six is a great read. I cannot wait until the next book comes out.
