Book Review: Hollowmen

I recently reviewed the first in this series by Amanda Hocking Hollowland which was by far one of the best books I’d read in the last few years. So I was excited to read the sequel Hollwomen

I’d read bad reviews of it on Amazon but I thought I’d give it a go and see for myself. I couldn’t even finish the book. It was horrible. There will be some spoilers so if you plan on reading it, which I recommended you don’t, look away.

The story was awful. She kills off all the main characters from the last one that you have come to love. Blue is randomly a zombie, okay I can live with that, but you just find out Harlow is dead and your expected to move on. Lazlo and Remy are in love but he’s not even in the book except on the radio of a bit. And he says he can t wait for her and she has to find him when in the first book he would have done anything to be with her. The story was just boring and I skimmed heaps before finally putting it down.

I don’t like given bad reviews and this is actually my first, but this book was poor in all categories.

I was so disappointed after loving the first one so much. Usually I would say give the book a go for yourself and you might like it. But really you won’t.

I suppose the author was writing in a ‘rush’ and tired herself out creatively. Sad to hear, hopefully she will renew her energies, listen to the reviews and resume her former writing self.
